less than two weeks until my university year finishes. I have Particle Physics and Biophysics exams next week and Galaxies/Air Water Fire Earth the following week. Feeling decent about the first two, hoping in a week's time I'll feel better about the second two.

Doing well on the wordcount front - passed 72000 last night. the only problem is the last four or so scenes don't match up - there's chronological issues and it just doesn't feel right. Usually I'd leave the editing til later and carry on but I can't get into the flow because the stuff that's just happened doesn't set up the big conflict well ( Read more... )

My lovely girlfriend Natalie arrives today having been at her home in Suffolk for three weeks. When she left last time my novel was at 48,000 words. Since then I've been inspired, writing more productiviely than I ever have, at 1000+ on most days and often more like 1500 ( Read more... )

After ten days of writing 1000+ words most days, putting 10k on my novel in rapid time, I reached an impasse Thursday having topped 60k. My output decreased friday and saturday, partially because I started my new job but also because I had the distinct impression I didn't know where to go to. I'll admit I have my doubts on some things governements say. I disagree with Israel's massacre of the Lebanese including the huge oil spill ruining the coast following the bombing of a power station. I think the electoral system in the US is flawed and possibly corrupted. I'm not sure the entire story of how 9/11 happened will ever come out ( Read more... )

So for the last year I had some issues, mostly concerning the awful student flat I lived in (bars open opposite until 4am, the ground floor being demolished to build a restaurant but the chinese builders being sent home and the rubble left on our doorstep, the list goes on).
